More About Tia

Here's my story:

I ran a bit in the '90s for fun, did a few 5k's and my longest race was a 15k in 1996. Then for no excusable reason, I stopped running and exercising all together. I put on about 40 lbs and went up 4 sizes.

After finally being sick and tired of being sick and tired, I started running again and my first race back was a 15K in 2/2009. I ran my first Half Marathon in 11/2009 and one year from the date of that 15K in 2009, I completed my first Full Marathon. I was then back to my ideal size. Since then, I've completed a total of 11 Marathons, 150+ Half Marathons, a Triathlon and a Figure Competition. On March 5, 2023 at age 54, I ran my 11th Marathon earned a Personal Best and Boston Qualification.

When I started, I didn't know anyone to ask about running, so I fumbled my way through learning the ropes and didn’t like it one bit! So I wanted to provide help to others starting out. In April 2011 I coached my first group to complete their first Half Marathon at Iron Girl Clearwater; the group members were all friends of mine. I enjoyed it so much, I started doing more and I love it! I've since coached over 1,000 people to their goals from age 18 to 80! I take great pleasure in helping others achieve a goal!

I've served as the National Coach for the Black Girls RUN! organization since 2017.

Whether it's for your first or best race, I hope you'll choose me as your coach and be part of a Training In Action!
